Conflict of Interest Policy

Scientific integrity relies on transparency. At Biologue, we require all contributors, authors, and editors to disclose any relationships that could be perceived as a conflict of interest (COI).

1. What Constitutes a Conflict?

A conflict of interest exists when an author's primary interest in producing an objective, unbiased scientific summary is potentially influenced by a secondary interest, such as financial gain, personal relationships, or professional rivalries.

2. Financial Disclosures

Authors must disclose any financial support, grants, consulting fees, or equity ownership in companies whose products or competitors are discussed in their articles.

3. Non-Financial Disclosures

Authors should also disclose relevant non-financial conflicts, such as serving on advisory boards, strong personal beliefs that heavily bias the writing, or previously published academic rivalries.

4. Editorial Independence

Biologue does not accept sponsored content or paid "advertorials" disguised as scientific articles. The editorial team maintains final discretion over what is published, and articles found to have undisclosed conflicts will be retracted or updated with a prominent disclaimer.
